Every home has a recipe worth knowing, and most of them stay in someone's memory or in a message that is lost within days. AnaChef is a community for home cooks and people who love cooking. Each cook keeps their recipes under the name they choose, and others find them, try them, rate them and share them.
The app was built in Saudi Arabia, for Saudi and Arab kitchens first. Ingredients carry the names people use, amounts are entered by the cup, the spoon and the piece, the way people measure at home, and nutrition is calculated from food databases AnaChef built for the purpose. Its door is open to every Arab kitchen and to anyone who loves to cook.
Highlights
- Publish recipes: A cook writes a recipe at their own pace, with photos, amounts and steps, keeps it as a draft until it is ready, then publishes it under their name.
- Automatic nutrition: As soon as the amounts are entered, the app calculates calories, protein, fat, carbs and fiber and shows them per serving, with no math from the cook.
- "What's in it?": A tool for a question asked in every kitchen: how much does a cup of rice or a spoon of ghee weigh, and how many calories are in it? Available in the app and on the website.
- Cook mode: Shows the recipe one step at a time, with a timer for the steps that need one.
- Kitchen copy: A tidy copy of the recipe, ready to print or send by WhatsApp, in Arabic or English, and translated into Filipino, Bengali, Indonesian and Urdu, so whoever helps in the home kitchen can read it in their own language.
- A community that takes part: Follow cooks, save recipes, rate them and comment on them, with notifications for what is new.
- Search that gets you there: By name, meal type, cuisine or a calorie limit.
- Share by link: Every recipe has a web page that opens on any device, even for someone who has not installed the app.
