1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to AnaChef (أنا شيف). These Terms of Service govern your use of the AnaChef app and its website, anachef.sa.
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree to them, you must stop using the App.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your data.
2. Definitions
- "The App": refers to the AnaChef app and its website, anachef.sa.
- "You" / "User": any person who uses the App, whether as a visitor (Guest Mode) or as a registered account holder.
- "We" / "AnaChef": refers to the entity operating the AnaChef app.
- "Account": the profile linked to the email address created by the user upon registration.
- "Content": any recipe, photo, comment, rating, or other material created or uploaded by a user to the App.
- "Recipe": a specific type of Content representing a cooking recipe published by a user, which is either "Published" (public) or "Draft" (private).
- "Block": an action taken by a user to prevent another user from interacting with them within the App.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this minimum age.
If you are younger than the age of full legal capacity in your country of residence, you confirm that your use of the App is with the consent of your parent or legal guardian, and that your guardian agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf in that respect.
4. Accounts and User Responsibilities
- Using most features of the App requires creating an account with a valid email address.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for any activity that occurs through your account.
- Information you provide when registering or in your profile (such as your display name) must be accurate and not misleading, and must not impersonate another person.
- You may edit your profile information or delete your account at any time, subject to what is available within the App (see Section 11).
5. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of all Content you create or publish on the App (such as recipes, photos, comments, and ratings). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your Content to AnaChef.
By publishing Content on the App, you grant AnaChef a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, process, and enhance that Content within the App and website, to the extent necessary to operate, develop, run, display, and promote the Service (such as showing your recipe on your public profile, in search results, or when shared via a link at anachef.sa/recipe/{id}).
This license is entirely separate from your ownership of your Content: it is an operational permission you grant us to provide the Service, not a surrender of your rights. This license ends with respect to Content you delete from the App, except to the extent it may be retained temporarily for technical or legal purposes, or content that other users have already shared lawfully before the deletion.
You are responsible for ensuring that the Content you publish does not infringe any third party's rights, including intellectual property rights.
6. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct
When using the App, you agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, abusive, hateful, or that infringes on the rights of others.
- Impersonate another person or provide misleading information about your identity.
- Harass other users or misuse the App's interactive features.
- Attempt unauthorized access to AnaChef accounts or systems.
- Use the App for any unauthorized commercial purpose, or in a way that impairs its operation or overburdens its systems.
These principles govern your conduct within the App. We may issue more detailed community guidelines in the future; if we do, they will form a supplementary part of these Terms.
7. Moderation, Reporting, Blocking, and Enforcement
We provide mechanisms for reporting content or conduct that violates these Terms, and we may review any report we receive and take whatever action we deem appropriate to protect the community or enforce these Terms, including, without limitation: hiding or removing violating content, restricting certain account features, or suspending or terminating an account (see Section 11).
We reserve the right to use our judgment regarding the appropriate action for each case, and these Terms do not obligate us to follow a fixed sequence of actions or apply a specific penalty for every violation.
The App allows any user to block another user to prevent them from following or interacting with their content. Blocking is subject to the details set out in the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimer on Recipe Accuracy and Food Safety
All recipes available on the App are content created by users themselves, and AnaChef does not verify the accuracy of ingredients, quantities, temperatures, or the nutritional or health suitability of any recipe.
You are solely responsible for checking ingredients and their suitability for your health condition (such as food allergies), ensuring proper cooking temperatures, and following sound food-safety practices, before preparing or consuming any recipe you find on the App.
AnaChef bears no liability for any health harm or loss resulting from following a recipe published on the App.
9. Intellectual Property
Except for user-generated Content, all intellectual property rights relating to the App (including the "AnaChef" trade name, logo, design, source code, and ingredient database) are owned by or licensed to us, and may not be copied or used without our prior written permission.
These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or logos outside the ordinary and intended use of the App.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
We make reasonable efforts to operate the App well and reliably; however, we provide the App "as is," without warranties of any kind regarding its being entirely free of faults or its uninterrupted continuity.
To the extent permitted by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, and our liability in any case remains reasonable and proportionate to the nature of the Service provided.
This section is not intended to exclude any liability that may not be excluded under the laws applicable in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
11. Suspension, Termination, and Deletion of Account
Deletion at your request: You may delete your account at any time through the means available within the App or by contacting us, and your personal data will then be deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
Suspension or termination by us: We may suspend your account, restrict some of its features, or terminate it if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, or cause harm to other users or to the App itself. We take this action in proportion to the nature of the violation, and without an obligation on our part to provide advance notice in cases where we deem it necessary to act to protect the community.
When we suspend or terminate your account, we may retain some of your data for the period necessary for technical, security, or legal purposes, as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the App or via your registered email address, and the "last updated" date will appear at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any amendment is posted constitutes your acceptance of it.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Should any dispute arise relating to these Terms or your use of the App, the competent judicial authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia shall have jurisdiction over it, unless the applicable law provides otherwise.
